ABOUT THE GALLERY
The Therese A. Maloney Art Gallery is located on the main floor of Annunciation Center on the campus of the College of Saint Elizabeth www.cse.edu in Morristown, New Jersey, USA, 35 miles west of New York City. The Gallery was funded by, and is named after, Therese A. Maloney, class of 1951.
Annunciation Center was opened on September 8, 2007 and, in addition to the Maloney Art Gallery, houses the Art, Music, Philosophy and Theology Programs, the Center for Spiritual and Theological Development, the Holocaust Education Resource Center and the 560-seat Dolan Performance Hall.
The tranquil setting of the College, home to undergraduate, Masters, Ph.D. and certificate programs, is the backdrop for a very active cultural campus life which welcomes everyone. The Maloney Art Gallery is part of an increased initiative to promote the arts, and the ideas and cultural contexts that surround their creation and presentation.
SIZE OF THE GALLERY
Approximately 900 square feet, with moveable walls inside, the Gallery has 200 running feet for hanging and display of all different types of art.
The Gallery hosts 5 shows a year, drawing primarily from the rich artistic diversity in the New Jersey/New York/ Philadelphia area, but also from around the country. Open calls for objects for our themed shows are used to bring a wide variety of art and artists to campus. Approximately 35 miles west of the Holland Tunnel, just off exit 2A of route 24 west, the campus is also adjacent to Convent Station, a one hour train ride from Penn Station in New York City on the Morris-Essex line of New Jersey Transit www.njtransit.com. Parking is accessible immediately in front of the main entrance to Annunciation Center or on the lower levels. Steps outside the building from the lower parking levels or steps or an elevator from the lower level inside the building will bring you up to the main level to the Gallery. All entrances are handicap accessible as is the Gallery itself.
